Detroit erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Rondell White began the Detroit spurt when he lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 12th of the season). Eric Munson was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Doug Mirabelli then doubled. Kevin Millar was up next and he bombed a two-run dinger (his 12th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Detroit and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Detroit had 9 hits for the afternoon. The winning pitcher was Brian Fuentes(1-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Akinori Otsuka(4-2) was the loser in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no walks without retiring a batter. 'What a win!', Fuentes said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in your mind at the end of a season.'
